I'm continually drawn to these places, these people, these women. They live in circumstances unimaginable to many, yet their resilience is unparalleled. Together with their mothers, daughters, sisters—as a tribe, a circle of women who support each other.
Here I feel the essence of being a woman and also the pain thereof.

The parents supported by Blue House Pushkar often have little or no income to build a hopeful future for their families. Many of the students come from poor, lower castes. Their parents are often musicians or cleaners, and in many cases are forced to leave their children to beg. To break this vicious cycle, Blue House Pushkar provides work for the children's parents.
By offering them work, these families have the opportunity to become self-sufficient and independent. We sell the handmade products they make through our webshop, and 100% of the proceeds go directly to the woman who made the product.
