These colorful bags are handmade by women from the tent community in Pushkar, India. They live in abject poverty and belong to the lower castes – many are cleaners or musicians.

Through The Blue House Project, they get the opportunity to learn a trade and give their children a better future.

This way she not only receives a fair income, but also hope, self-confidence and independence.

The bags are 10 x 15 cm and can be tied with a drawstring. They're made with lots of love and attention from scraps. They're not perfect—this is a learning experience :-)—but you have something so special!

All orders are packed within 24 hours on business days. Shipping costs within the Netherlands are €4.75 for letter-sized mail and €7.95 for package mail; to Belgium and Germany, €9.80. Shipping is free for orders over €75 (NL) or €100 (BE/DE). Once your order has been shipped, you’ll receive an email: letterbox mail takes 1–2 business days (PostNL does not deliver on Mondays), and package mail takes 1 business day; both are estimates.
