The Story Behind The Two Sisters
A dream began twenty years ago.
During my first trips to India, I was completely enchanted. By the colors that take your breath away. By the rich fabrics that your fingers can’t bear to let go of. By the materials, the scents, the people—a world I could never forget.
My love for India grew with every trip. And as it grew, so did my longing: I wanted nothing more than to let women in the Netherlands experience what I felt there. The beauty of discovery. The warmth of connection. The feeling that the world is bigger and more beautiful than we sometimes think.
But India didn’t just show me the beautiful sides.
I also saw women and children living in dire circumstances. People full of talent, full of strength—but without opportunities. That touched me deeply. The desire to help them became the driving force behind everything that followed.
And that’s how The Two Sisters came to be: from Sister to Sister, by women for women.
My name is Ingrid. I believe we are all sisters—connected from the heart, across borders and cultures.
With love, joy, and dedication, I run The Two Sisters together with my team. Everything we do is steeped in authenticity, quality, and genuine care. For the clothing. For the people who make it. And for you.

To me, India is much more than just a country—it feels like a second home.
Several times a year, I travel to Pushkar, a magical place in the heart of Rajasthan where the soul of The Two Sisters truly comes to life. This is where our collections are created. Not in anonymous factories or on assembly lines, but in small family workshops where craftsmanship, love, and tradition have been passed down for generations.
No mass production, just real people
At The Two Sisters, we believe that beautiful clothing starts with the people who make it.
That’s why we consciously partner with small family workshops, where about 10 to 15 artisans work on our collection with care every day. No rush, no assembly line—just clothing that comes to life step by step, with attention and love for the craft.

In addition to creating beautiful clothing, my deeper mission is to truly support the people who make this possible. And you and I both play a role in that.

A portion of the proceeds goes directly to BlueHouse Pushkar — a special project dedicated to underprivileged children in Pushkar. Children growing up in absolute poverty, whose futures often seem predetermined. Trapped in an intergenerational cycle of poverty that repeats itself over and over.
But we believe in change. In hope. In opportunities.
BlueHouse Pushkar is working to break that cycle—from the inside out, in a way that respects the uniqueness and strength of the community itself.
A New Beginning: Women Building Their Own Future
Since January 2026, we’ve started a new chapter.
We’re teaching women from the community a trade: jewelry-making and sewing. With their own hands, they now create the little flags and bags you’ll find in our shop.
And the best part? 100% of the proceeds go directly to these women.
Together, we’re making a difference—not with grand gestures, but step by step, with love and dedication.
